Max Wanger

Found this fun LA-based wedding/lifestyle/food photographer and I found him to be quite inspiring. Have a look: http://www.maxwanger.com/. I guess LA is not that bad...I guess.

Eight

Blamo suckers!! Didn't think I'd post again, did you? My time management skills are improving slightly, but I'll try to stick with once a week until I'm ready to go to the next level. Blogging can be a serious thing.
This is my number 8, found at Diner in Williamsburg. Super hipster, super vintage, super delicious brunch.

I've been finishing up a recent wedding I shot last month, I figured I'd share a few shots since I never post my weddings here. Perhaps another blog?

Nine

I am offically a failure at blogging.

But I ask you this--is it my fault I enjoy the outside world? Is it my fault I cannot commit to such a restrictive realm that is the internet? World-wide-web? No...stuck-in-an-office/mobile device/bedroom-web! Is it my fault I have a compulsive need to blame everything else except myself? No, that's the government's fault.

Moving on, here is my number nine. I will admit it did take me a while to find a nine in this town, I suppose it's just not as popular as you'd think.

Now that it's spring time, check out a fun website: http://eu.wrangler.com/bluebell/#/collection, for anyone who enjoys pulling around dudes.

Ten

A belated happy 2010.
As a new New Years photo project, I've decided to count down with found photos starting at 10. My hopes is to do this all with my iPhone, but who knows if said iPhone will actually function that long. Here's hoping!

I'm back...

...but not quite ready to share. Here's a tidbit though--a snap of watching the sunset on safari. Standby for the remainder of our splendid journey.

Last Call!

Piper says goodbye...

So I've been running around attempting to get everything done and squared away with before the trip to Uganda. We leave on Tuesday, and I must confess this, this trip will be my first time out of the country. How sad that I have never left the US of A (except for Canada, which refused to stamp my passport. REFUSED.) but I couldn't think of a better trip to be my first.
On top of the trip, I've been constantly shooting, which is great. I've been working with some extremely talented people on some shoots, however the task of editing is slightly overwhelming at this point.
An interesting tale; the studio I was shooting at happened to be also playing role as a holding area for a tv show being filmed across the street. The sight of 250 background players scuttling around and being horded like cattle was mind-boggling within itself. It was so interesting to see the hierarchy system of film productions; signs posted all over, "Crew Only!" and "No Sitting!". It felt more like segregated south then someone's actual job. No wonder celebrity actors loose their minds and think they're totally awesome. This is why I like still photo.

We are still fund raising for our trip, so this your last chance to donate! It is your very last chance to donate to something sweet ass, so take the opportunity. And a special THANK YOU for all those who have donated already, it is really amazing how awesome people are. Living in the city sometimes gets you down, but to see the response of donators has been absolutely wonderful :-D

So ChipIn, I didn't know how to extend the old one, so I just created a new one :-/ I'm not very tech-savvy

Off to Uganda...

...very soon.
So I will be teaming with 13 other people next month on a trip to Uganda. Why you ask? Well, I will be helping teach a 4-day seminar for the children enlisted in the LEAD Uganda program. This program takes kids, some have been orphaned by AIDS, sold as sex-slaves, or forced to be a child soldier, and provides them with the opportunity to succeed. The kids are encouraged to go to universities and then return to be the future leaders of the country.
I will be teaching a creative/self expression course with 3 other fine ladies. Currently, there is no creativity courses offered in the kids curriculum. Actually, any arts is usually discouraged and believed to be the cause when kids don't do well in school. Much different from our education system by far.
If you'd like to help us out, look below and donate some money. $2, $5, $50... anything will help. The money will go to our travels there. We'll be bringing with us 10 laptops for the house, and hopefully we can find some camera donations sometime before August 18th.
Also, anyone who would like to write a check, I'll be giving prints as a thank-you. Exciting times, people!
